Of
course, you'll need some great ball park peanuts in their shells and
several of our plastic
baseball
hat. Divide guest into pairs. One partner
gets a bowl of peanuts and the other partner gets the baseball cap.
Separate the Throwers from the Catchers by several feet. The distance
between the two lines should be guided by the age of the children. Ages 4-
6 about 6ft, ages 7-9, about 9 ft and 12 ft for ages 10 & up.
Now the object is to catch as many peanuts as you can into your baseball
cap. Each team should be given the same number of peanuts to throw. You
can make it more challenging by adding a time limit like "Who can
catch the most in 15 seconds."
Important:
Please make that no party guests are allergic to peanuts. If so,
substitute Circus Peanuts (orange marshmallow like candies). |
Outdoor
Version: Use a baseball field diamond and if bases are not marked use
throw-down bases.
Indoor Version: Use throw-down bases indoors. If
using on a rug you may need to tape down corners for the bases not to move
when walked on. Another idea is to use masking tape and mark out the bases
on a rug or floor.
Throw-Down Baseball Bases...Set Of 3 Bases & 1 Home Plate...Orange

For both versions, cut out 8 white circles. Decorate one
side like a baseball and on the other side write 1B, 2B, 3B, Home ( 2 for
each). Put them into one our baseball caps to draw from.
Okay, put on some great baseball music (see party
supplies below for music) and have the kids walk around the bases, similar
to musical chairs. When the music stops they must stand on the nearest
base. More than one child can be on a base. Now, draw a card. Everyone on
that base is OUT!
The other kids continue playing. When you are down to 4
or less players, then only one player can be on a base when the music
stops. This will allow you to eliminate down to one WINNER! |
This
game is for children ages 8 and up. Divide the group into two teams, HOME
and VISITORS. Each team is given a list of Hall of Fame Baseball Players
and Nicknames for these players. The object is to match the nickname to
the correct Hall of Fame Player.
